AGM's New Catalog will open on TUESDAY
August 12 at 3:00 PM US Central Time

As is our practice, the new stuff will under the very mysteriously titled category NEW LISTINGS.  Everything else that is currently available will be listed in the regular categories.  If you have had your eye on an item that had not yet sold when we closed down the summer sale to prep the site for #124, it will be there when #124 opens up, but listed in it's native category.  Since interest in the sale has continued longer than expected, we will also leave the those summer sale discounts in place for a time as well!
We are also pleased to have added a new payment option for your catalog purchases: Zelle.  If you are not familiar with this, check your bank's website.  Most US banks now offer Zelle as a way to quickly and easily make or receive payments at no cost.  There is usually a daily spending limit; these vary from bank to bank, and in most cases a quick conversation with your branch manager can get them adjusted to suit your collecting needs.  To pay for an invoice here, just log in to your bank's website, select the Zelle option, and send to our business account which is linked by the email agm6@advanceguardmilitaria.com.  If you would, please put your invoice number in the notes section.
Our marketing manager Ali has been trying out her new Bannerman Auctions video equipment on previews for AGM Catalog 124.  To view these, head on over to the AGM Facebook Page.  In fact, since these catalog announcement emails often end up in spam, visiting that page and following or liking it is a good way to help make sure that you are in the loop for new developments, sales, etc. here at AGM.
Catalog 124 includes a number of nice recent finds, as well as a few special pieces that I have just enjoyed having in the office.. but now it is time to let someone else enjoy them for a bit.  Several of these just by coincidence are items associated with a specific veteran whose wartime recollections are preserved in interviews.  Three of these WWII veterans are interviewed in videos that you can watch online: - 569th Bomb Squadron Navigator Manny H. Banner - 20th Air Force 1st Photo Recon Squadron Airman John Dragoni - 79th Division 314th Infantry Lieutenant John J. Witmeyer Another is the 11th Airborne officer's grouping from 1st Lt. Toshio Mayeda.  Though his family was interned by the Roosevelt administration, Toshio's older brother volunteered in 1942 and served as a Prisoner of War interrogator in the Pacific.  His younger brother went to Europe with the famed 442nd Regimental Combat Team.  Toshio served in Japan with the 11th Airborne Division during occupation, performing translation and interpretation duties.  His recollections are preserved in a 1991 oral history interview project done at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, which is available online in .pdf format.
