CATALOG #123 posts FRIDAY December 13
at 3:00 PM US Central Time

Our new catalog will open on Friday, December 13 at 3:00 pm US Central Time.  This is early notice - I will send a reminder notification on 12/12.  Thanks!  We sincerely appreciate your interest and your business.

Remember: to give everybody the best possible chance, we do not sell anything before the catalog opens.  In fact, we remain closed to phone traffic and emails on opening day until the exact moment that the new catalog opens.

So, if it is 3:00 pm in Missouri.. what time is that where you live?
Follow along on the AGM home page countdown clock.

Catalog 123 opens on Friday December 13 at 3:00 pm US central time.

So, what do you need to know about this one?
As is our practice, the new stuff will under the very mysteriously titled category NEW LISTINGS.

Everything else that is currently available will be listed in the regular categories.  If you have had your eye on an item that had not yet sold when we closed down #122 to prep the site for #123, it will be there when #123 opens up, but listed in it's native category.

View the Preview from the link which will appear on the home page.  There will be an early preview for all registered AGM users opening at 12:00 noon.  Unless of course there is some sort of technical snafu as has happened in the past with our old out-of-date website!  If that happens, it is normally fixed quickly, so just come back in a few minutes.  The preview link will appear under the big catalog button on the home page.  Depending on your browser, you may need to refresh.  To see the link, you will need to be logged in.  (Not visible to guests.)

During the preview period, we are often still uploading images, finding and correcting errors, reshooting items where necessary, and making other small changes.  If you don't see photos of a particular item, check back later.  Remember: the preview is just that - a preview.  Instead of a "BUY" button, a countdown to the catalog opening is displayed.  A
t 3:00, start from the home page (item pages don't pop up with a buy button at 3, they just reset to the home page.)   Also please note - we do not take calls until the site is open for sales.  If you want to beat your pals to the item you want, the fastest way to do it is to be logged in and press the "buy" button yourself, rather than psycho-dialing us at 2:00 so that you can explain why the rules should apply to everyone except you.

AGM NEWS, 123 Highlights, and an exciting new venture!
Word has already leaked through a few friends, but this I suppose is the official announcement: AGM is shifting direction, and with the help of some wonderful people, is opening up Bannerman Auctions.  AGM will continue to exist, as it is certain that there are always going to be clients who wish to sell their collection (or individual items) directly, and do not wish to go the auction route.  However, I have discovered that the transparency and ease of an auction paradigm simplifies operations to a great extent, and opens up the availability of a number of collections that would otherwise have gone elsewhere.  So even without having made an official announcement until now - we have wonderful militaria coming out of our ears here, just waiting for the launch of Bannerman Auctions in 2025.  For more details about this change and what it means for both AGM and you, click here. bannerman_logo_white_small

Reinventing AGM and building Bannerman is exciting, but expensive!  We also need to keep the lights on and paychecks flowing for the wonderful folks that I have recently hired.  So, just like we did on Catalog 122, this is an opportunity to remedy the situations where I have failed to live by my own policy "you can't become your own best customer."  Or from pop culture: "Don't get high on your own supply" (Scarface 1983).  In order to keep my own collector's impulse from getting in the way, I have adopted a fairly limited collections policy.  But... I will confess - a number of extremely interesting things come in here and though they aren't necessarily 'kept', they just might hang out for an excessively long time looking great in the office before finally making their way to a catalog.. or not.

There are a number of new aquisitions in this catalog of course, but like the catalog before it, this is mostly comprised of pieces that I have been hanging on to for years or decades in several cases!  Two of these go all the way back to the Dadizele Belgium War Museum purchase of 1998!!
